What Is a Compression End Needle Valve?
There are many different types of valves you can use to promote fluid flow in your pipes. Are stainless steel compression needle valves the right type for you? A needle valve is a very precise type of valve with a thin, needle-shaped threaded plunger and a small port. The advantage of using a needle valve is that you can very precisely control the flow of fluid. However, due to the small opening, they are usually not appropriate for high-flow applications.

SBNV Series
Integral Bonnet Bar Stock Needle Valves
The SBNV needle valves by Mako Products have an integral bonnet design with a compact, bar stock body. SBNV needle valves have low operating torques and each valve is factory tested with nitrogen at 1,000 PSI. A variety of options are available for handles, body materials, packing, straight or angle flow patterns and stem types.
The SBNV needle valves have a pressure rating of 6,000 PSI at 100°F. The standard packing material is PTFE/Teflon, which has a temperature rating of -65°F – 450°F. SBNV series valves are available in male or female pipe thread or compression ends.

SINV Series
Integral Bonnet Needle Valves
The SINV Series needle valves by Mako Products feature a compact design with a forged body and is panel mountable. There are bar and round knob handle options, along with three different stem types: Vee Stem, Regulating Stem, and Soft Seat Stem. The SINV needle valve can be ordered in a standard straight flow pattern or angle flow pattern design.
SINV needle valves by Mako products have a pressure rating of up to 5,000 PSI at 100°F and are 100% factory pressure tested with a nitrogen leak test. The standard packing material is PTFE/Teflon, which has a temperature rating of -65°F – 450°F. Peek packing is available to increase the temperature range to 600 F when required.

SUNV Series
Union Bonnet Needle Valves
The SUNV Series needle valves by Mako Products are compact and feature packing below the threads, which helps protect the valve stem. The needle valve can be used in severe service conditions, and will function in up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit.
The SUNV series of needle valves is available with bar and round knob handles, along with three different stem types: Non-rotating Vee Stem, Regulating Stem, and Soft Seat Stem. The SUNV needle valves can be ordered in a standard straight flow pattern or angle flow pattern design and is panel mountable. Connection options include: male and female pipe thread, socket weld and tube or compression end.
