What Are Ball Valves?
Do you need an instrumentation ball valve for your applications? Mako Products can provide you with a self-measuring ball valve or a variety of Superlok stainless steel ball valves. However, you may not be clear on how this type of valve works or how it can benefit you. The basic architecture behind our Superlok threaded ball valve is actually quite simple.
A check valve is a two-port valve designed to promote the flow of fluid in one direction. Liquid or gas enters the valve through one port and exits through the other port to keep the flow of fluid moving.
There must be a system in place to make sure the fluid continues to flow in one direction, though, and that’s where our Superlok ball valves come in. Ball valves contain a ball in the valve on one end, which blocks the reverse flow of fluid. Fluid can enter, but if it tries to return, the ball seals the entrance and stops the reverse flow, forcing the fluid to continue in the correct direction.
Ball valves are affordable, effective and very useful in applications like feed pumps, boilers, petroleum extraction and medical devices.

Our 316 stainless steel ball valves are available with tolerances up to 1,000 PSI, 3,000 PSI or 6,000 PSI, and they are able to withstand temperature ranges from -65 degrees Fahrenheit to 450 degrees Fahrenheit — depending upon the ball valves you choose.

SBV210 Series
1,000 PSI | Two-Piece
The SBV210 Series by Superlok is a 1,000 PSI pressure rated, 316 Stainless Steel bar stock body ball valve that has a variety of compression end or threaded port connections from ¼” to 1”. These valves have a compact design with a lever that is composed to be tight and smooth with low torque and easy operation.
The SBV210 series allows the choice of standard butterfly handles or optional bar handles and comes with PTFE/Teflon packing.
The angle option is available by request.

SBV120H Series
3,000 PSI | One-Piece
The SBV120H Series from Mako Products is a panel mountable, 3,000 PSI pressure rated, 316 Stainless Steel machined one-piece body ball valve that is offered in compression ends, and female and male threaded ends.
These ball valves are offered in straight, angle and 3-way flow patterns, click on the SBV120H Series Information & Spec link to the right to see the part numbers for ordering.
SBV120H ball valves are built with PTFE/Teflon seats and packing rated for 50°F up to 150°F. Packing must be readjusted for service at higher pressures.

SWB Series
3,000 PSI | Three-Piece – Forged Body
The SWB Series from Superlok is a 3-PC center body, swing-out designed ball valve with high-strength 4-bolts, nuts, and flange seals.
It is the only Superlok compression end ball valve that has a locking handle. The lever handle is smoothly operated with low torque. It has a blow-out proof stem that provides maximum safety along with stem springs that help compensate for alternate pressures, temperatures and wear. The temperature range with the standard Reinforced PTFE/R-PTFE seats is from -20°F to 450°F.
The high-strength stem bearings allow for smooth actuation, resistance to wear, and eliminating irritating between the stem and the ball valve body. Available in tube end, female pipe threaded end, socket weld, butt weld, and sanitary end connections.

SBVF360 Series
6,000 PSI | Forged Body
The Superlok SBVF360 Series has a compact design that delivers superior strength for a positive shutoff by utilizing the quick quarter-turn operation in applications up to 6,000 PSI.
This panel mountable compression end ball valve includes a handle that indicates flow direction and a micro-finished ball that provides a positive seal.
The SBVF360 Series can be ordered in 2-way and 3-way stainless steel body configurations with optional threaded and compression end connections. Each end connection and size selection provides a wide range of pressures and temperatures that make this valve useful in a multitude of scenarios.

SBVH360 Series
6,000 PSI | Machined Body
The SBVH360 Series by Mako Products is a 316 Stainless Steel compact design valve that has a high flow rate with maximum orifice.
The temperature rating is -22°F to 265°F with the standard PVDF seats and with the optional by request PEEK seats, the temperature rating is -65°F to 500°F.
Superlok’s SBVH360 Series ball valves are available in 2-way straight, 2-way angle and 3-way builds.
